Pat Soon-Shiong: Progress in ImmunityBio’s Cancer Vaccine Trial for Colon Cancer

Pat Soon-Shiong, Chairman of Chan Soon-Shiong Family Foundation, Executive Chairman at ImmunityBio, and Executive Chairman of the Los Angeles Times, shared a post on X by GretchMick, adding:

“Pleased to see the fruits of our ongoing clinical trials in patients with colon cancer and the goal to reduce the risk of the cancer coming back. The goal to prevent colon cancer is even more challenging – a cancer vaccine. Our NCI sponsored trial has taken on this challenge – a TriAd vaccine plus Anktiva.

This cancer vaccine trial in patients with a high risk of developing colon cancer has now been fully accrued and one year mark has passed. The combination of Anktiva + vaccine against CEA, MUC1, and brachyury represents our first cancer vaccine trial. This time next year is when the second anniversary of the vaccine is evaluated.”

Quoting GretchMick:

“Last round of treatment yesterday at ImmunityBio.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to participate in a single-patient investigational new drug (IND) protocol with the goal of reducing my risk of colon cancer recurrence after my extended right hemicolectomy surgery last year. There is so much potential in these immune-based protocols, and I hope every day for positive study results and ultimately, access for anyone who may benefit from them. The best news: my latest bloodwork showed a very low CEA, and my Signatera test showed ZERO detectable circulating tumor DNA.

My next big milestone is March: two years from surgery with no recurrence. For now, I’m feeling strong, grateful, and hopeful—and confident that my immune system is alert and ready for whatever comes next.”
