Partha Basu, Head of the Early Detection, Prevention and Infections Branch at IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with his colleagues published in JCO Global Oncology:
“Very pleased to share outcomes of the large pilot HPV detection based screening implemented in Uzbekistan by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and evaluated by IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer/World Health Organization.
Lessons learn will greatly benefit the cervical screening programme being scaled up in the country.
Credit goes to Nargiza Zakhirova, Dilshod Egamberdiev, Ilya Olkov and other colleagues who very successfully implemented the pilot in a hard-to-reach area of the country.”
