Nzobonankira Euloge, Expert in Women’s Cancer Early Detection/ Breast and Cervical cancer screening at Rwanda Biomedical Centre, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today we celebrated International Cervical Cancer Elimination Day by sharing Rwanda’s practical journey from planning to successful implementation of cervical cancer prevention services.
We walked participants through the full screening and care pathway:
• Community mobilization and partnership engagement
• HPV DNA testing as the primary screening tool
• VIA triage for HPV-positive clients
• Same-day treatment with Thermal Ablation and LEEP
• Digital registration and linkage to results using mUzima and OpenMRS
• Use of portable colposcopes for magnified visualization and accurate decisions
• Referral and follow-up for suspected or confirmed cancer cases
We were honored to present this work alongside representatives from key national and international partners, showcasing how collaboration, technology, community involvement, capacity building, and strong commitment are moving Rwanda closer to Mission 2027.”
