“I am honored to receive this recognition from the National Academy of Engineering.
When I began my career, it still wasn’t widely accepted that biology and engineering could be part of the same field.
In fact, I was one of the very first PhDs to graduate from MIT in the newly created discipline of biochemical engineering.
We’ve come a long way since those days – and the most exciting advances are still ahead. Thank you again to the NAE. I look forward to participating in our annual meeting in October.”
