“Returning to Pfizer. The Light of Anti-Cancer Medicine I Once Sown Now Lights Up My Life Journey
My heart is filled with emotion as I step back into Pfizer’s office after many years away. I joined Pfizer back in 2002 and departed in 2015. These years formed an incredibly precious chapter of growth throughout my pharmaceutical career. Rewinding to 2012, I witnessed the launch of ALK targeted therapy Crizotinib in Hong Kong, bringing a ray of therapeutic hope to countless patients living with ALK-positive lung cancer. No one could have foreseen life’s unexpected twist: years later, I myself was diagnosed with ALK lung cancer. Today, I rely on the third-generation targeted drug Lorlatinib to keep my condition stable and under control.
My role has transformed from a pharmaceutical professional promoting life-saving therapies to a direct beneficiary of this entire drug research and development pipeline, and this shift fills me with profound gratitude. It was such a privilege to revisit my former workplace today and share my cancer journey with long-time colleagues as well as energetic new team members. Watching Pfizer thrive continuously and nurture outstanding pharmaceutical talent brings me immense joy and pride. I am truly thankful for my time working and learning at Pfizer. This place holds countless professional memories and milestones that shaped me. Sincere gratitude goes to Peggy Fung , Nicholas Chan , Hayes Chu and Athena So for their thoughtful arrangements, which made this homecoming feel warm and reassuring in every way.
