Nelson Liu, Senior Medical Director of AstraZeneca shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Global pharma is buying China’s oncology pipeline.
Since 2019, more than 30 China-originated cancer drugs have been licensed or acquired by Global pharma – over $70 billion in disclosed deals, across 14 buyers. Roughly two-thirds are ADCs.
Two things stand out:
1. Big pharma is buying early – often within ~2 years of a drug’s first human trial, frequently before its pivotal study even starts.
2. China is fast – these drugs reach their first pivotal trial in China in roughly half the time of the rest of the world.
Continuing to experiment with AI in oncology drug development. This one pulls every trial date from ClinicalTrials.gov and China’s registries and checks every deal term against company filings (SEC / HKEX / SSE) – one AI building the analysis, a second fact-checking every number.”
