Naoto Ueno, Director of the University of Hawaii Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:
“Very proud of our team at the University of Hawai’i Cancer Center.
Our Body Composition Laboratory, led by Dr. John Shepherd, has been designated as an IAEA Collaborating Center—one of only eight worldwide and the only one dedicated to nutrition.
This is an important recognition of the scientific expertise we have built in Hawaiʻi. More importantly, it creates an opportunity for Hawaiʻi to contribute to cancer research and training across the Pacific and around the world.
Congratulations to John and the entire team. This is what it means for Hawaiʻi to have a cancer center with global impact.
