“I am very pleased to have contributed to the recent publication in the ASCO Educational Book on the multidisciplinary management of penile cancer.

This work, developed under the guidance of Philippe Spiess and Jad Chahoud, MD, MPH-MHA, and led by the Luis G Medina and Firas Hatoum, provides a comprehensive review of the multidisciplinary approach to this rare but highly aggressive disease, within the educational book of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

This work highlights several key aspects:

  • The importance of multidisciplinary management to optimize oncological outcomes and quality of life.
  • The impact of healthcare disparities, delayed diagnosis, and disease-related stigma.
  • The fundamental role of centralization in high-volume centers.
  • The relevance of early lymph node staging as a key prognostic factor.
  • The integration of surgery, radiotherapy, and systemic therapies into personalized treatment strategies.
  • The growing need for psychosocial support and patient advocacy programs.

I am honored to be part of this international team. Global Society of Rare Genitourinary Tumors (GSRGT).

Special thanks to Philippe Spiess and Luis G Medina for the opportunity to collaborate on this work.”
