Mohammed Ibrahim։ Tsinat Breast Cancer Support Group Brings Women Together to Share Support, Hope, and Strength

Mohammed Ibrahim, General Secretary of Ethiopian Society of Hematology and Oncology-ESHO and Associate Editor at OncoDaily, shared on LinkedIn:

“Courage, Comfort, and Blessings: Where Survivors Teach Us at Tsinat․

More than two years ago, the Tsinat Breast Cancer Support Group began at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College with a small circle of women who wanted to stand together.

Today we are many, and today I was reminded why this group matters.

‘Tsinat’ (ጽናት) is an Amharic word meaning endurance, perseverance, and resilience: the inner strength to keep going through hardship.

It is the spirit our group carries every day.

I am proud to be a founding member and board member. Women who came in carrying fear helped each other with comfort, hope, and blessings that no clinical visit can give.

The survivors teach us as physicians. Their lived experience shapes how we listen and care.

Thank you to every member and colleague on this journey.

Your courage is teaching us.”
