Miriam Mutebi, Consultant Breast Surgical Oncologist, Immediate Past President of AORTIC- Africa, and UICC Board Member, shared on LinkedIn:
“All roads lead to Berlin.
It was an engaging first day at the World Health Summit2026.
My highlight: a lively roundtable on moving the needle for breast cancer in sub – Saharan Africa.
We explored the promise of technology and innovation, but also what it takes to actually deliver those solutions through functioning health systems, backed by sustainable financing.
The thread running through every conversation: we have enough commitments. What we need now is sustained action.
Because innovation is only as valuable as our ability to get its benefits to the people who need them most.
And of course, these gatherings are also about reconnecting with colleagues, exchanging ideas, and a little laughter along the way.
More reflections from my sessions tomorrow.
For now, a few moments from Day One.”
