Mieke Van Hemelrijck, Professor in Cancer Epidemiology at King’s College London, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“What a fantastic and energising tour: Transforming cancer outcomes through Research training day today at King’s College London Bush House!
We started the morning with a series of incredibly insightful talks from Lloyd Gregory (KCL-GSTT Joint Research Office), Dan Walker (Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust R&D), Kim Potter (KCL GRO) and Elizabeth Blackmore (KCL Contracts).
Their guidance on navigating the support mechanisms for ethical approval and study set-up was invaluable. There were lots of thoughtful questions, plenty of useful resources shared, and – most importantly – the strengthening of human connections that will support our future collaborations.
In the afternoon, I was completely blown away by the dedication, passion and creativity of the TOUR team. We had 22 presentations showcasing individual research projects, each delivered with a unique and creative twist – ranging from quizzes and songs to crosswords, performances, creative stories, videos, poems and games. Truly inspiring!
Have a look at the short video for a glimpse of the creativity on display.
I feel incredibly lucky to work with such an amazing and supportive team. I’m already looking forward to our next group activity and seeing the exciting ideas and projects that will emerge from it.”
