Michelle Mitchell, Chief Executive of Cancer Research UK (CRUK), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I had the wonderful job of hosting our final all-staff event of 2025.
This year has been an extraordinary one for Cancer Research UK (CRUK). We’ve made accelerating progress for cancer patients and their loved ones. Next year we’ll continue funding world class research and world class people to make sure breakthroughs reach patients faster.
A big project this year was our ‘Cancer Detectives: Finding the Cures’ documentary series, which aired last month on Channel 4 with Professor Sarah Blagden, Dr Richard Mair and Professor Caroline Dive. CBE, who joined us at our event.
We talked about what the documentary has meant for them and how, by showing viewers the breakthroughs that are shaping the future of cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, the hope this has given to cancer patients and their families.
A huge thank you to Sarah, Richard and Caroline for taking the time to be with us, and also a big thank you to all my colleagues for your curiosity, enthusiasm and engagement throughout this event and this year.
And if you missed it, you can catch up on Cancer Detectives over on Channel 4.”
