Michelle Mitchell, Chief Executive of Cancer Research UK, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful reception at 11 Downing Street with some of our valued supporters and friends, where we shared our thanks for their generous support for our More Research, Less Cancer campaign so far.
To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we heard from Pamela Kearns about her work in children and young people’s cancer. While not as common as adult cancers, around 400,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer worldwide each year. As the biggest charitable funder of research into children’s and young people’s cancers in the UK, our work has already helped transform survival – but there’s more to do.
Now is the time to think bigger and better, to raise our aspirations and ensure that every child is able to survive cancer and thrive.”
