Michelle Mitchell: £40M Milestone in CRUK and Scottish Power Partnership
Michelle Mitchell, Chief Executive of Cancer Research UK (CRUK), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I had the pleasure of joining Sir Chris Hoy and Scottish Power CEO of Customer Business Andrew Ward for a powerful panel at their HQ in Glasgow on Friday.
We spoke about Sir Chris’s experience of being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, the importance of changing perceptions of late-stage cancer and how partnership and people can drive progress in research and care.
Our relationship with Scottish Power began in 2012. Since then, their incredible customers, employees and suppliers have raised over £40m for Cancer Research UK (CRUK)‘s life-saving work.
Scottish Power is also an official partner of Tourde4, a new charity cycling event launched by Sir Chris to challenge perceptions around living with stage 4 cancer and raise vital funds for cancer charities across the UK.
Wishing the very best of luck to my Cancer Research UK colleagues Iain Foulkes and Simon Boulton who are taking part and a big thank you to Scottish Power, Sir Chris and the Tour De 4 team for your commitment to a better future for people living with cancer.”
