Merit Elmaadawy: AI as an Assistive Tool Enhancing Efficiency and Decision-Making for Specialized Breast Imaging Radiologists

Merit Elmaadawy, Medical Director of Breast Health Care Centre of Bakhsh Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, adding:

“Our article is officially published

Honored to have contributed to a distinguished multi-reader study involving 9 Breast imaging -fellowship trained- radiologists across 4 countries, interpreting 300+ mammograms, with and without AI support, evaluating its impact on our clinical practice and cancer detection.

It’s been a long but incredibly rewarding research work journey from idea to publication in Academy Radiology. Lucky to be part of an inspiring dedicated group of researchers, always enjoying working with you Janaki P Dharmarajan, Ma.Theresa Buenaflor, and special thanks to the team leader; Niketa Chotai, for the opportunity and leadership throughout this work.

We evaluated the AI as an assistive tool that enhances efficiency and decision-making for specialized Breast Imaging Radiologists, and its impact on our confidence and mammogram reporting workflow.

I am sharing the link of the full published article in Academic Radiology Elsevier’s, let us know your thoughts. Are you interested in integrating AI into your breast imaging practice?”
