Back then in 2017-2018 when the field was focused on post-treatment MRD, we felt that early treatment response signals could be exploited to risk stratify patients early and adapt treatment early.
That gave rise to EP-STAR, a platform trial to adapt treatment based on longitudinal EBVDNA response to induction chemotherapy in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma
I am very pleased our team was able to show the feasibility and success of such an approach and kudos to collaborators from Sun Yat Sen University Cancer Centre who trusted the idea and ran with it that led to this seminal publication in Nature Magazine
