“Last night, I had the privilege of spending time with members of the Dana-Farber and The Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Presidential Symposium.
President and CEO of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Benjamin L. Ebert began the evening by emphasizing the transformative role of philanthropy in advancing cancer care and research. He spoke to our current catalytic moment: highlighting both the challenges ahead and the tremendous opportunities to make a difference in the decade to come.
Renowned MIT Researcher, Rene Richardson Gosline, reflected on her late husband’s cancer journey, sharing the experience of navigating diagnosis, treatment, and care as a family. Joined by Dana-Farber physician-scientist Kimmie Ng, their poignant conversation spanned topics ranging from the role of caregivers, the importance of support for children and families, the impetus for the Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer Center at Dana-Farber, and how artificial intelligence may help improve research possibilities and incredible advances in research that are reshaping how we treat some of the most challenging cancers.
Several other incredibly talented and motivated doctors and researchers including Drs. Haribabu Arthanari, Katie Janeway, Sara Tolaney, Judith Agudo, and Jennifer Ligibel also joined us to share milestone moments in their areas of expertise during the afternoon program. All of this work has been made possible thanks to our philanthropic community.
