Martin Barr, Translational Lung Cancer Research at St James’s Hospital and Trinity College Dublin, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Within the Thoracic Oncology Research Group (TORG) Trinity College Dublin, St James’s Hospital Dublin age- and sex-matched controls are key to building world-class biobanks and advancing our translational lung cancer programs and resources, such as liquid biopsy. Furthermore, blood samples from healthy controls provide a necessary reference with which to compare samples from a known condition or cancer.
Stepping up to the game this morning was Prof. Gerry Hanna and members of the TORG team whose blood donations were expertly coordinated by Hannah O’Toole from the Trans-Atlantic Cancer Alliance for Liquid Biopsy Research and Training (TALenT) project.
Thank you Sinead Hurley, All-Ireland Cancer Liquid Biopsies Consortium (CLuB), Research Nurse, for the blood draws!”
