Mark Wildgust, Vice President of Global Medical Affairs, Oncology at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson, shared on LinkedIn:
“$5,000. 10 families. Four weeks of groceries.
This Saturday is the Blood Cancer United Light The Night Mercer County, and as we head into the final few days of fundraising, I’m asking for your help with one last push.
My goal is to raise another $5,000 before we walk on Saturday.
Why $5,000?
Because that amount can help provide 10 families with groceries for four weeks following the loss of income that can come with a blood cancer diagnosis and treatment.
I’ve spent my career in oncology, and I believe deeply in the power of science to change what is possible for patients. But I’m also reminded that cancer affects so much more than a person’s health. It affects families, jobs, finances and the everyday things many of us take for granted.
Sometimes hope looks like the next scientific breakthrough.
And sometimes hope looks like knowing there will be food on the table while your family gets through the next few weeks.
That’s why serving as the 2026 Corporate Walk Chair for Light The Night Mercer County means so much to me. Thank you Michelle Burdick for the opportunity.
If 50 people gave $100, together we could reach this final $5,000 goal. Whatever you can give will make a difference.
If you’ve been thinking about donating, this is my ask. Please help us get across the finish line.
And to everyone who has already donated, walked, volunteered or supported us: thank you. I’m incredibly grateful.
Let’s light the night together.”
