“There’s never a dull moment in survivorship, let me tell you.
Two months ago, I was experiencing chest pains awful enough to win myself a trip to the cardiologist – plus bonus prizes of an echo and a nuclear medicine stress test. Fun times.
I was not prepared to have four scans of my heart in the span of three hours. But I learned so much that afternoon – not just about my own heart, but about how incredible modern medicine and science truly are.
Being part of the advocacy space fuels my curiosity to keep learning, so I can turn moments like this into something useful: better educating our community, supporting newly diagnosed patients, and helping them find their footing to eventually serve others too.
Survivorship isn’t linear. But every scan, every scare, every ‘fun’ afternoon in the hospital becomes one more thing I can use to show up for someone else.”
