Maria Leticia Gobo Silva: 30th CTOS – One of the Most Important Global Events Dedicated to Sarcomas

Maria Leticia Gobo Silva, Radiation Oncologist and Leader of the CR in Sarcomas and Bone Tumors at A.C.Camargo Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Between November 12 and 15, I participated in the 30th CTOS, in Boca Raton, one of the most important global events dedicated to sarcomas. It was a pleasure to see the A.C.Camargo Cancer Center strongly represented with three posters, presented by our team: Fernando Campos, Giovana Torrezan, and myself.

In my poster, I shared our long-term follow-up results of patients treated with hypofractionated radiotherapy concomitant with preoperative chemotherapy for soft-tissue sarcomas of the extremities – a research line we have developed with dedication and that reinforces our commitment to innovating with quality.

Aligned with the recent completion of the PPCR, this year’s CTOS also offered an inspiring session led by prominent international editorial leaders on how to publish articles in high-impact journals. It was a unique opportunity to hear directly from experienced editors and researchers about how to transform ideas, data, and results into robust and meaningful publications.

Finishing the PPCR and then experiencing the CTOS with this broadened perspective further reinforced the importance of combining methodological rigor, multidisciplinary collaboration, and strong scientific communication skills. Producing science is essential – but knowing how to publish it with quality and purpose is what truly drives progress in the field and amplifies the impact of what we do in our Reference Center.”
