Marcin Kubeczko: Exciting ESTRO 2026 Highlights Powerful Advances in Breast Radiation Oncology

Marcin Kubeczko, Medical Oncologist and Radiation Oncologist at Maria Sklodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Exciting days at the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) 2026 Congress in Stockholm.
Some scientific highlights from our work presented during the meeting:

  • SBRT — a feasible and valuable treatment option in patients with mTNBC treated with sacituzumab govitecan: results from an international study conducted within the Central European Breast Cancer Collaboration (CEBCC)
  •  Privileged to be part of the Reirradiation Collaborative Group (ReCOG) Breast Group, led by Dorota Gabryś, and contribute to the project: Breast Cancer Reirradiation Practice Patterns: An International Survey.
  • We also presented data supporting definitive RT as a valuable treatment option in unresectable breast cancer.

Beyond the science, it was a great opportunity to reconnect with so many friends and collaborators from across the world.
Very happy to catch up again with my mentor in radiation oncology within the European School of Oncology, Philip Poortmans, and to further strengthen collaboration with Icro Meattini.
I also did not expect that during just a few days, I would have the opportunity to meet the outgoing ESTRO President Matthias Guckenberger, the new ESTRO President Barbara Jereczek-Fossa, and ESTRO President-Elect M. Carmen Rubio Rodríguez. Meetings like this truly show how strong and collaborative the international radiation oncology community has become.”
