I feel extraordinarily fortunate to combine my passion for research with caring for patients with breast cancer – and, along the way, to meet remarkable people.
At the heart of this project is Aleix Prat – the scientific visionary and driving force behind HER2DX.
When I applied for the ESMO Mentorship three years ago, I hoped to gain an outstanding mentor. In Aleix, I was fortunate to gain not only that, but also a dear friend. It is wonderful to look ahead together at everything that still lies ahead.
On the radiation oncology path, I have been equally fortunate to have Philip Poortmans as my ESO mentor, whose guidance continues to inspire me.
A huge thank-you to Pierfranco Conte & Valentina Guarneri, and to the entire faculty who made this event truly memorable: Jacek Jassem, Sandra M. Swain, Hope S.
