Kadriye Başkurt: Liver-to-Muscle FDG Ratio and Inflammatory Markers as Prognostic Factors in SCLC

Kadriye Başkurt, Medical Oncologist at Etlik City Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper she co-authored with colleagues, published in Clinical and Translational Oncology:

“New Publication Alert!

I’m thrilled to share our recent work published in Clinical and Translational Oncology:

‘Prognostic significance of liver-to-muscle FDG uptake ratio and inflammatory biomarkers in small cell lung cancer.’

In this study, we explored how metabolic imaging and systemic inflammation interact to shape outcomes in small cell lung cancer (SCLC).

Our findings show that the liver-to-rectus femoris (LRF) SUVmean ratio, a simple PET/CT-derived parameter, can reflect host metabolic frailty and predict survival — offering a practical and noninvasive biomarker for daily oncology practice.

Grateful to my colleagues Dr. Semra Demirtaş Şenlik, Dr. Galip Can Uyar, Dr. Enes Yeşilbaş, Dr. Ömür Berna Çakmak Öksüzoğlu, and Dr. Osman Sütcüoğlu for their remarkable teamwork and scientific spirit.”
