“Looking forward to the week ahead, filled with learning, collaboration, and new ideas.
It starts this Wednesday with a four-day Integrative and Functional Medicine retreat at Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute.
Faculty, physicians, and other clinicians from different parts of the country and world come together for intensive learning, project work, sharing ideas, and collaboration.
What I enjoy most is learning how people from different disciplines approach the same patient and the same problem from a different perspective.
Almost immediately after the retreat, the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting begins in Boston from September 26-30. This is the largest meeting of the year in radiation oncology, with new clinical data, technologies, research, and many conversations about the future of our field.
There will be a lot packed into the days ahead, in addition to daily clinics and patient care, and I am looking forward to all of it.
I am hoping to share some practical takeaways as these events happen, particularly around integrative cancer care, AI, and new developments in radiation oncology.
