Knarik Arakelyan: Choosing Career Growth Over Comfort to Join OncoDaily

Knarik Arakelyan, Head of OncoDaily TV, Managing Editor in CancerWorld, PR and Communication Officer in EMERTE Clinic, shared on LinkedIn:

“A year and a half ago, I made one of the hardest decisions of my career. I walked away from a place that had been my home for years-a company I had helped build from the very beginning.

It wasn’t because I wanted to leave. It was because I knew that staying, however comfortable, meant I would stop growing.

Choosing the unknown is never easy. A new company. A new team. New expectations. No guarantees.

I remember wondering:

  • What if I fail?
  • What if I don’t belong?
  • What if I’m making the biggest mistake of my career?

Those questions never completely disappear when you’re about to take a leap. You simply decide that growth matters more than certainty.

So I took the leap.

Looking back today, I realize I wasn’t just changing jobs. I was changing my life. Because later that, joining the OncoDaily family-first as the Managing Editor of CancerWorld and later as the Head of OncoDaily TV-opened doors I never imagined. It gave me opportunities to learn, to lead, and to work alongside extraordinary people who challenge and inspire me every single day.

None of that would have been possible without the trust and support of Gevorg Tamamyan and Samvel Chakhalyan.

Thank you for believing in me before I fully believed in myself, for trusting me with responsibilities that helped me grow, and for showing me what leadership built on vision, kindness, and integrity truly looks like.

Recently, something happened that reminded me of that decision I made a year and a half ago. It made me realize how differently my life could have unfolded had I chosen the safe path instead.

Sometimes we spend so much time worrying about what we might lose that we forget to imagine everything we might gain. The biggest opportunities rarely arrive wrapped in certainty. They usually arrive disguised as difficult decisions.

If you’re standing at a crossroads today, afraid to take the next step, remember this: Growth almost always begins where comfort ends. And sometimes, one decision can change everything.

I’m incredibly grateful that mine did.”
