Kimryn Rathmell: Katie Coleman Joins OSUCCC-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute

Kimryn Rathmell, Chief Executive Officer of Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I am pleased to share that Katie Coleman has joined the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute as our new Senior Advisor for Translational Innovation, effective Jan. 12.

Innovation is central to how we improve the patient experience and outcomes, and Katie will play an important role in helping us turn groundbreaking discoveries into practical solutions that make a difference for those we serve. She will advise our leadership, faculty and staff as we expand our capabilities in translational innovation, adopt new technologies—including responsible applications of artificial intelligence—and launch an Innovation Center dedicated to breaking down barriers to care.

Katie brings a unique combination of expertise as a technologist, entrepreneur, cancer survivor, author and patient advocate. Her work with the Rare Cancer Research Foundation and her consultancy, OncoLogic, has helped build digital tools that streamline consent, data capture, navigation and collaboration across institutions. She also founded the Chromophobe and Oncocytic Tumor Alliance (COA), where she has connected patients, clinicians and researchers to drive progress in kidney cancer.

I am thrilled to welcome Katie to The James. Her experience and vision will help us translate bold ideas into real-world impact as we continue our work to create a cancer-free world.”
