“At 36, Maritza’s life changed overnight when a routine ER visit revealed a 7 cm kidney tumor. Diagnosed with stage 2 renal cell carcinoma in 2023, she faced surgery, complications, and months of recovery — but her faith, family, and medical team guided her through every step.
Maritza is also a proud KCA Challenge Ambassador and was our top fundraiser this year, supporting others impacted by kidney cancer. Now she celebrates life and the timing that brought her through this journey.
