“Pleased to share our review, ‘The First Report on the Current Status of Geriatric Oncology in the Gulf Cooperation Council and a Pragmatic Roadmap for Implementation,’ published in Frontiers Oncology Reviews.
As cancer care improves and populations age, geriatric oncology is becoming increasingly important across the GCC. This work brings together the current landscape, existing gaps, and a practical roadmap for integrating geriatric principles into oncology practice.
Grateful to all my co-authors for this collaborative effort: Dr Tanvi Sood , Dr. Purvish Parikh , Dr. Anant Ramaswamy , Dr.Cherian Thampy, Dr. Chaturbhuj Agrawal, Dr. Kakil Rasul, Dr. Sanjay Thuruthel, Dr Amish Vora – Medical Oncologist , and Dr. Prof.Humaid Al-Shamsi.
A special word of thanks to Dr. Purvish M. Parikh Sir for his continued mentorship and academic guidance, and to Dr. Humaid O. Al-Shamsi for his leadership, support, and perspective from the GCC region.
Hopefully, this work can contribute to more structured, evidence-based, and regionally relevant care for older adults with cancer.”
