“Below my name, you’ll see that I’m a Vice President with American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). What you won’t see is that I’m a five-year ovarian cancer survivor and thriver.
Cancer doesn’t define the 1 in 3 Americans who will hear the words ‘you have cancer’ in their lifetimes. Instead, as we kick off ACS CAN’s Leadership Summit and Lobby Day, more than 700 volunteers whose lives have been touched by this disease are descending on Capitol Hill to define the future of cancer research and funding in this country and ensure all patients have access to the clinical trial that could save their life.
Nothing is more inspiring than connecting constituents with their members of Congress to enact real change. It’s the lifeblood of our work at ACS CAN, and I’m honored to play a role in facilitating this critical, life-saving work.
