Jonathan Lim, Lead of The Christie International Fellowship Programme for Medical Oncology at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Lead of RISE Consortium at RISE Manchester, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Making time to attend the ceremony today was less about the title and more about marking a milestone – a moment to reflect.
On resilience… For me, it has meant bouncing back from exhausing/emotional clinical shifts, failed exams, rejected grants, moving cities, time away from family, and missing important life events along the way.
I am happy to have made an occasion of it, and to celebrate with family and friends. A special mention to Mo, Dani and Shef, who first met me fresh out of medical school as fellow FY1s in Brighton. We have shared many milestones since then, and I feel fortunate that our friendship remains as strong as ever.
I am also particularly proud to be admitted as an FRCP during the presidency of Professor Mumtaz Patel – our very own from Manchester, only the 5th female President of the Royal College of Physicians and the first person of colour to hold the role in its history.”
