Joanna Metzner-Sadurski: How Healing Gardens Bring Peace To Patients During Cancer Treatment?

Joanna Metzner-Sadurski, President of Oncology101.org, Adjunct Professor at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, shared on LinkedIn:

“Self Regional Healthcare

When we built the Cancer Center, there was always a vision for a healing garden: a beautiful place where patients could rest, enjoy sunny days during treatment, and look out through the big windows at something peaceful and alive.

The wonderful volunteers from the Garden Club make that vision real. They care for this space with such love, and their tremendous work is deeply appreciated.

The cancer journey is hard. But sometimes a quiet view from the window, or a few minutes outside in the shade among beautiful plants, gives patients and families a moment of peace. Those moments matter. They remind us that healing is not only medicine. It is also beauty, kindness, and feeling cared for.

We cannot thank you enough.”
