“Such a wonderful gathering at Dr. Kashyap Patel home. He is a true legend in rural oncology, a visionary leader, and the founder of NOLA. It was incredibly thoughtful of him to organize such a meaningful evening and bring everyone together. Ruiling Yuan and I attended today.
Attorney General Alan Wilson spoke openly about the loss of his father, his military service, and his wife’s health journey. His willingness to share these deeply personal experiences was especially meaningful for families and reminded us of the humanity behind public service.
His running mate, Senator Mike Reichenbach also shared his powerful story of growing up in foster care and being adopted by a wonderful German family. His experience reflects the importance of supporting families, improving access to affordable healthcare, and investing in prevention.
It was also so good to see my great friend Holly Pisarik from the South Carolina Medical Association.
