“Thank you, pompili cecilia. An important part of advocacy is asking the hard questions.
We must celebrate progress, but we also need to ask: What does this mean for all patients? What data sitting in trials can help us understand:
- The people under the curve, why didn’t they benefit? What can we learn from them, and how can we help them?
- Can we identify who truly needs treatment, esp. in the adjuvant setting, and who can be spared the physical, financial, and time toxicity?
- If efficacy is the same or similar with dose reductions, why are we starting everyone at the maximum dose in the first place? This data shouldn’t be buried in a paper. It belongs on the big stage because the oncologists in the room are taking it back to the clinic, and patients and families need it to make informed treatment decisions. WCLC26.”
