Jennifer Douglas, Writer and DCIS Breast Cancer Patient Advocate, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“On my drive home from a mammogram yesterday, I realized how familiar the in-between still feels.
That period of waiting—when results are unknown and it’s difficult to move forward with intention—can be deeply unsettling. When cancer enters the conversation, it changes how we experience time and uncertainty.
If you’re beginning this year in the in-between, or navigating a new diagnosis of DCIS, know that this is a hard place to be. Compassion for yourself matters here.
My book, A Breast Cancer Journey: Living It One Step at a Time, was written to support readers through these uncertain moments—offering clarity, reassurance, and a reminder that progress doesn’t require all the answers at once.
