Jeffrey Lee, Chief Medical Executive at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Hosting our first Morning Momentum HALs breakfast at the Woodlands Houston Area Location was such a great experience and a unique privilege—it brought me and Dr. Marshall Hicks, our Diagnostic Imaging Division Head, together with many of our great Woodlands HAL faculty and staff, including Dr. Pamela Schlembach, Center Medical Director, Brenda Brown, Executive Director ATC and CTRC, Marcel Bartolazzi Stephens, Associate Director, Ambulatory Program Operations and many others, allowing us to listen, learn, and better understand the realities, joys, and some of the challenges of delivering cancer care at this tremendous MD Anderson Cancer Center HAL location.
Our conversations reflected what makes our Woodlands HAL team truly exceptional: outstanding dedication to uniformly excellent patient outcomes and experiences, a drive to advance our mission by providing outstanding MD Anderson care outside of TMC in a wonderful community, and a very strong sense of supporting their colleagues and teammates.
Faculty openly shared their perspectives, frustrations, and their anxieties, as well as their desires and their optimism regarding opportunities for additional growth, specific support needs, and the importance of ensuring that our recognition structures evolve to better reflect their important work and uniquely valuable contributions.
After our meeting, we toured the Woodlands HAL and met more of the great faculty and staff. The insights gained from our visit will help us provide additional targeted support, improve communication, and continue to build an organization that supports all our teams.
Sincere thanks to our Woodlands faculty and staff for taking time from your very busy schedules to engage with us and provide frank and meaningful feedback, and for your commitment to delivering spectacular care to our Woodlands MD Anderson patients. I look forward to continuing to support you in working together to Make Cancer History.”
