“Too many decisions about Africa’s health are still shaped by crisis, not strategy. It was a pleasure speaking with Raj Kumar of Devex at UNGA81 about the future of health financing, African leadership and what it will take to build stronger, more self-reliant health systems across the continent.
Africa has the talent. Africa has the institutions. Africa has the vision. What we need is sustained investment in African priorities, stronger domestic financing, and partnerships that build long-term capacity. That is the shift we are driving at Africa CDC. And it is the conversation we will continue at CPHIA2026 in Addis Ababa, 23-27 November.
