Jarbas Barbosa da Silva Jr: Strengthening Our Strategic Collaboration With St. Jude

Jarbas Barbosa da Silva Jr, Director at the Pan American Health Organization, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“It was a pleasure to meet with Dr. Bente Mikkelsen and Rob Clark from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – valued long-term partners in our shared commitment to advancing equitable childhood cancer care across the Americas.

Together, the Pan American Health Organization and St. Jude continue to strengthen our strategic collaboration through the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (CureAll Americas), now supporting 19 countries – 11 already in full implementation – across areas such as early diagnosis, quality treatment, workforce capacity, and health system strengthening.

Our joint work is delivering impact at scale. Regional public goods developed together have reached more than 210,000 health professionals, while the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines is helping countries improve forecasting, governance, supply chains, and sustainable access to quality-assured treatments.

We are encouraged by concrete progress, including Ecuador’s first medicine deliveries across nine hospitals and El Salvador’s readiness to begin implementation.

Partnerships like this are essential to accelerate results and ensure that every child, everywhere, has access to quality cancer care.”
