”As ADCs move into earlier stages of breast cancer treatment, are we generating the evidence needed to guide what comes next?
ADCs have transformed breast cancer treatment, but their success is creating important new questions.
As these therapies move into the neoadjuvant, adjuvant and earlier metastatic settings, we urgently need evidence to understand optimal sequencing and treatment after prior ADC exposure. This review highlights that unmet need and why it matters for patients.
It’s a topic that resonates with me as a patient advocate and member of the Patient-Centered Dosing Initiative (PCDI therightdose.org). PCDI’s patient-reported data in our 2025 ADC survey have highlighted the significant impact ADC toxicities can have on quality of life, underscoring why it’s so important to optimize not only which ADC we use, but when we use it.
Ultimately, our goal should be to ensure patients receive the right drug, at the right dose, at the right time, throughout the continuum of care, while preserving quality of life whenever possible.
Looking forward to seeing more prospective research addressing these critical evidence gaps.”
