JAMA shared on X:
“Editor’s Note by JAMA Associate Editor Rohan Khera, the JAMA Network Editor in Chief Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, and JAMA Deputy Editor Joseph Ross: In the age of Artificial Intelligence, clinicians are increasingly using AI-enabled clinical information platforms to retrieve and apply medical evidence at the point of care.
These tools may improve access to treatment and diagnostic information, but citation links alone do not validate generated responses or confirm that evidence applies to an individual patient.”

Authors: Rohan Khera, Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, Joseph S. Ross
Estela Rodriguez, Associate Director of Community Outreach in Thoracic Oncology at the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, added:
“I remember carrying a big binder of relevant scientific lung cancer articles to read as a fellow, in the age of AI and information overload reading everything out there and carrying is impossible, AI can help but we must teach our trainees to be critical of AI sources and opinions.”
