“I’m honored to have been selected as an AACR Global Scholar and to attend the annual meeting of American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) 2026, one of the most prestigious cancer research conferences worldwide.
This was an exceptional and truly enriching experience. What stood out most was the remarkable diversity of research, spanning translational science and preclinical work to randomized clinical trials. The depth and quality of the sessions were unlike any conference I’ve attended.
I had the privilege of connecting with many talented scientists and postdoctoral researchers, which made the experience even more valuable.
Being part of GSITA provided unique opportunities, and I’m deeply grateful that my work was recognized by such a distinguished committee. I thoroughly enjoyed all the events organized by the GSITA team, as well as the engaging conversations and time we shared together.
It was also a pleasure to meet Dr. Melody Smith in person following an especially insightful session on the effect of the intestinal microbiome on CAR T-cell therapy.
I was also fortunate to have a one-on-one session with Dr. John Carethers, whose perspective as a senior leader in oncology provided invaluable guidance for me navigating a career in this field.
A special thank you to Alfonso López-Coral. for his outstanding efforts in organizing the GSITA program and ensuring everything ran seamlessly.
I also appreciated the opportunity to connect with Pablo Sanchis, whose work and journey with AACR I find truly inspiring. It was a pleasure discussing research with him. I also enjoyed meeting Annie Wai Yeeng Chai, our GSAC, and valued our insightful discussions we had.
It was great to finally meet Hassan Abushukair in person, especially as the first Jordanian GSITA (and to my knowledge, SITA also). Congratulations again on being awarded by AACR for the Scholar In-training award (SITA).
Sharing this journey with fellow Jordanian GSITAs, including Jehad Yasin and Muaath Alsufi, made the experience even more memorable. Thank you both for the great moments we had together.
