Humaid Al-Shamsi, CEO of Burjeel Cancer Institute (BCI) Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last week was another phenomenal week as part of my visiting scientist and visiting professor appointments at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School.
I had the opportunity to return to my home institution for a productive week filled with meaningful engagements. From catching up on our ongoing research to strategic planning sessions with DFCI leadership, we continued making strong progress in advancing cancer care across the UAE and beyond.
The week was packed with clinical work, clinical research, AI-based research, and important administrative initiatives — all of which will help shape the future of oncology in the region through our valued partnership with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Above all, I’ll never forget the incredible hospitality and genuine friendship I experienced from everyone there — especially our ‘big brother,’ Prof. Toni Choueiri.
In another note this week is my first anniversary at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute AND Harvard Medical School. Proud to be part of this amazing institution.
Special thanks to my dear friend Spyros Potiris.
Thank you all, my dear friends and colleagues and see you soon inshalla.”
