“I was honored to visit His Excellency General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, at Baabda Palace in Beirut last Friday along with Dr Hampig Raphael Kourie.
During our meeting, I briefed His Excellency on the ongoing collaboration between the Burjeel Cancer Institute and a distinguished group of oncology specialists in Lebanon. I also presented him with a copy of my book ‘Cancer in the Arab World‘ which highlights the state of cancer care in Lebanon.
We discussed several joint medical initiatives and cancer research projects involving Lebanese physicians (Burjeel Cancer Institute | BCI BMT program)— a reflection of the strong spirit of collaboration between our two nations.
His Excellency emphasized the importance of strengthening regional medical partnerships to advance cancer research and treatment for the benefit of patients across the region.
I sincerely thank His Excellency for his warm reception, and I look forward to further enhancing the partnership between the Burjeel Cancer Institute and our colleagues in the Lebanese Republic.”
