”CSI Legacy Awards
Last week, I had the privilege of attending the 5th Annual CSI Legacy Awards. The theme, ‘70 Years of Resilience, Freedom and Impact,’ resonated throughout the evening, reflecting the current state of this sector.
Having been in the shoes of NGOs, I understand the significance of witnessing their work being recognized.
It’s not about who had the best year, but rather about those who have built something enduring: governance that withstands pressure, funding relationships grounded in trust rather than optics, and teams that remain committed when the work becomes challenging. This kind of endurance often goes unrecognized, yet it is what truly propels a cause forward.
The event brought together some of the finest individuals in South Africa’s CSI and philanthropic sector, and I left genuinely moved by the caliber of work being accomplished. Thank you to Simphiwe Mtetwa and the team for an evening that honored this vital work.
