“What a privilege to spend time in Croatia this past week, connecting with colleagues across the country and seeing firsthand the energy and dedication driving cancer care here.
My sincere thanks to Prof. Dragan Primorac and the organizing committee of the 14th ISABS Conference for the invitation to speak. It was an honor to take part in a meeting that brings together such remarkable scientific talent from around the world.
Prior to the conference I had the chance to catch up with my amazing colleagues from our UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Zabok. Drs. Marko Bebek and Timor Grego, our phenomenal director Davor Babić and I discussed some of the amazing work and clinical care being offered by UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Hrvatska as well as plans for further offerings.
I was also fortunate to see some of the beautiful countryside in Croatia during my travels. From Zagreb to Split to Dubrovnik, I was welcomed by physicians, scientists, and clinical teams whose commitment to their patients and to multidisciplinary, collaborative care was genuinely inspiring.
At UPMC, partnership is at the heart of how we work and after this visit, I’m more excited than ever about the opportunities to deepen those connections between UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and our counterparts across Croatia.
