Hazel Cheeseman: Could New Rules Change the Face of Tobacco and Vape Products?

Hazel Cheeseman, Chief Executive at Action on Smoking and Health (UK), shared on LinkedIn:

“Take 10 minutes today to respond to the Government consultation on limiting the promotion of tobacco and vaping products.

The cigar and vaping industry claim to have motivated thousands of responses and the Government need to hear from those who support their plans to protect the public from inappropriate promotion.

  • Action on Smoking and Health (UK) has some guidance here.
  • The direct link to the questions is here.

There are options to add text but the most important thing is to indicate where you agree with the Government’s plans.”

Neil Ranasinghe, Patient Advocate, Lead Technical Author at London Stock Exchange, added on LinkedIn:

“If you are worried about vaping and nicotine products then this consultation is for you.

The tobacco industry is constantly trying to get around legislation.

You can have your saying things like allowing products to have cool sounding names, interesting colours where they are advertised can they be packaged like other every day products, can they be made to look similar to sweets etc.

It doesn’t take long.”
