Hassan Kabir: The Future Starts Now and It Starts with Us
Hassan Kabir, Governor of
“WHY I CHOOSE CANCER ADVOCACY!
Cancer is not just a statistic, it’s a reality that has touched lives around me and left a lasting imprint on my heart. Witnessing the struggles, the silence, and the stigma that surround cancer in Nigeria ignited something deep within me “a determination to change the narrative”.
This is not just about awareness, it’s about equipping communities with knowledge, empowering youth, driving early detection, and giving hope where despair once lived.
That passion gave birth to what we are building today: OncoReach Initiative, Nigeria’s first youth-driven cancer advocacy movement.
Our mission is clear: to engage the country’s most untapped resource the youth from campuses to remote communities, training 1,000 youth advocates who will in turn reach 20,000 people by 2026 with life-saving cancer education and advocacy.
But no vision thrives in isolation.
If you are passionate about grassroots cancer advocacy, community engagement, or health equity, my DM is open. Let’s connect, collaborate, and work together to ensure no voice is lost to cancer in silence.
The future we are building is one where young people lead boldly in the fight against cancer. The future starts now and it starts with us.”
