Han Chong Toh: Hosting Jason Collins—Courage and Hope in the Fight Against Glioblastoma

Han Chong Toh, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at National Cancer Centre Singapore, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“A huge privilege to host Jason Collins – College basketball hero at Stanford University turned National Basketball Association (NBA) star, and his husband Brunson Green – hollywood producer who made The Help.

Jason recently publicly announced his diagnosis of high grade glioblastoma, and is in Singapore for experimental brain cancer treatment on trial, likening his battle against cancer to facing Shaquille O’Neal.

Their first time in Singapore, Jason and Brunson have been tasting our crazy rich-flavour asian food .

While jason was standing in the MRT train, a young girl said to him, ‘please have my seat, sir. I know what you are going through.’

Thank you, Kai Fong Chng – International man of ministry permanent secretary digital development and information AI overlord – for the amazing made-in-Singapore gelato.

Exciting new treatments for glioblastoma have emerged such as CAR T cells, vaccines, targeted therapy etc – bringing so much more hope for a tough disease.

One could sense Jason’s unwavering courage, indomitable spirit, quiet faith and hope – a towering inspiration, a great human being.”
