Strengthening International Collaboration in Oncology – Gustave Roussy

Gustave Roussy shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Strengthening international collaboration in oncology.

We were honored to welcome Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to Gustave Roussy during his visit to France for the One Health Summit.

This meeting highlighted the strength of our partnership around Gustave Roussy International – Egypt in Cairo, as well as the significant progress achieved over the past year:

  • medical rotations of Gustave Roussy physicians in Egypt
  • remote multidisciplinary tumor boards
  • regular collaboration in pathology
  • continuous improvement of patient care pathways and quality of care

The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the development of GRI-E, particularly in terms of quality of care and patient experience, and commended the teams for attracting high-level oncologists and highly skilled surgeons, contributing to both excellence in care and the training of future generations.

We also reaffirmed our shared ambition to further strengthen this collaboration, particularly in precision medicine and research.
Prof. Abdel Ghaffar visited our radiotherapy department and discovered cutting-edge technologies such as Halcyon and ZAP-X, illustrating our commitment to innovation in cancer care.

Next steps: a visit of our research teams to Cairo on April 14–15, followed by the CEO’s visit to Egypt later this month, notably in the context of the ISCO congress.

Thank you to our partners and teams for their continued commitment: Gustave Roussy International – Egypt, Elevate, Ahmad Morsy, Tarek Moharram, Omar Yasser Abdelkader, Rémi Thiolet, Patrick Le Disez.”
