Gloria Chinyere Okwu, Member at Catalyst NOW, Nigeria Chapter and Member of Abuja City Executive Committee at City Cancer Challenge, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday, the Medicaid Cancer Foundation launched the disbursement of 100 million raised during the Walk away cancer movement. The funds will go towards the treatment of cancer patients (men women and children) in different cancer centers across Nigeria.
As a patient, this is music to my ears! Many patients grapple with the harsh reality of economic hardship during and after treatment. Just two weeks ago, I was in different DMs soliciting for funds to complete my 12 rounds of chemotherapy. This is noble, especially as patients didn’t have to ‘beg’ for it.
To everyone that made this possible, God bless you.
To all those who support patients in their own way, God bless you abundantly. You are gods on earth.
Thank you Medicaid Cancer Foundation for walking the talk and channelling your energies where it matters the most.
To access these funds, kindly reach out to the foundation or check their website.”
